Too Many Outs

Level 4 : Blinds 200/400, 400 ante

According to the players, all the money went in on the flop 975 after Greg Himmelbrand bet and got a pot-sized raise from Grantel Gibbs, which put him all in for 16,500 total. Himmelbrand called.

Himmelbrand flopped a straight, while Gibbs had an ace-high flush draw.

The turn came the J, giving Gibbs additional out to a full house. However, the river 2 only improved Himmelbrand’s hand to a queen-high flush and he doubled-up.

Gibbs noticed that the problem was he had too many outs and Himmelbrand, notably happy to win the pot, commented he would feel worse for his opponent if he hadn’t just busted Day 5 of Main Event. Gibbs was unlucky to lose another hand soon after and got down to just 6,500 chips.
