Life Outside Poker: 'American Pie' Star Shannon Elizabeth Talks 25th Anniversary, Phil Hellmuth Entrance

Life Outside Poker is a new podcast for PokerNews hosted by Connor Richards that seeks to pull back the curtain on poker players and allow viewers and listeners to get to know them on a personal level.

In the 12th episode, Connor speaks with actress and conservationist Shannon Elizabeth on the 25th anniversary of American Pie, in which she played the iconic role of Nadia. Elizabeth talked about her roles in films like Scary Movie and Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back, playing poker with the cast of That '70s Show, finishing third in the 2007 NBC National Heads-Up Poker Championship and taking part in Phil Hellmuth's 2024 WSOP Main Event entrance.

Elizabeth also spoke about her conservation efforts in South Africa through the Shannon Elizabeth Foundation, including caring for and providing a sanctuary for a blind black rhino named Munu.

David Jackson Bust Aroha Ngata with pocket tens and at the same time on the next table across, Ryan Wolfson was also all in.

Ryan Wolfson opened to 80,000 from a late position and Samuel Wilkinson moved all in from the hijack.

Wolfson was looking to hold with sevens. The J♥6♣10♥ flop brought Wilkinson an open-ended straight draw and the Q♥ turn put Wilkinson in the lead with a pair of queens.

The 5♥ river sealed Wolfson's fate and he was eliminated along with Ngata with around 85 players remaining.

Jeremy Ausmus Ties Phil Hellmuth's Single Series WSOP Final Table Record

Phil Hellmuth has multiple World Series of Poker (WSOP) records. But there's one that he now shares with Jeremy Ausmus, a six-time bracelet winner (maybe seven-time soon?).

Ausmus, a Poker Hall of Fame nominee, has reached the final table of Event #91: $3,000 H.O.R.S.E. (8-Handed). In doing so, he not only has moved into first place in the WSOP Player of the Year race, but has also made history.
