Adam Friedman Leads as Gus Hansen Eyes Second Bracelet on Day 3 of $10,000 Eight-Game Mixed Championship
The 2024 World Series of Poker is nearing a conclusion but first there is still one more $10,000 mixed game championship title to be crowned. Over the last two days a field of 189 entrants has been reduced to just 22 remaining players in Event #88: 10,000 Eight Game Mixed Championship here at Horseshoe and Paris Las Vegas.
Adam Friedman currently sits atop the counts with 1,098,000 chips. Tom Koral (1,055,000) was the only other player to finish Day 2 over one million while Gus Hansen (948,000) rounds out the top three.
Friedman is known for his mastery of mixed games and will be eyeing his sixth bracelet in this event. All five of his other bracelets came from wins in mixed game events, including three wins in the $10,000 Dealer's Choice Championship which he won three years in a row.

Hansen, once viewed as one of the best players on the live tournament circuit before stepping away from tournament poker for a number of years, will be aiming to capture his second bracelet in this event. Before this year, his last two recorded WSOP cashes are from 2019 and 2013 respectively and his first and only bracelet win was nearly 15 years ago in 2010. Despite the time away from the felt, the "Great Dane" seemingly has not lost a step and was in control throughout the day yesterday en route to bagging a top three stack.
Other notables still in contention include Maxx Coleman (741,000), Yuri Dzivielevski (626,000), Calvin Anderson (489,000), Chris Brewer (486,000), Andres Korn (462,000) and Cary Katz (159,000).
Although the money bubble, which lasted roughly three hours over the course of 44 hands, burst yesterday the remaining 22 players still have a long ways to go, having made one pay jump from the min-cash. All 22 are guaranteed at least $22,643 while the winner will take home the top prize of $413,446 and a WSOP gold bracelet.

Day 3 is set to resume at 2:00 p.m. local time at Level 18, featuring limits of 20,000/40,000 and blinds of 5,000/10,000. Levels will be 90 minutes and there will be a break after every level.
