Event #85: $1,000 Flip & Go No-Limit Hold'em Presented by GGPoker is one of the most unique tournaments on the 2024 World Series of Poker (WSOP) schedule. This year's event saw 1,088 entrants at the Horseshoe and Paris Las Vegas, with only 136 progressing from the flip stage.

The "Flip" part of this event saw players enter single-table Flip & Go's, with the format being a crazy pineapple style of no-limit hold'em. Players received three cards, discarded one after the flop, and were all in until a winner was determined on each table. Those winners progressed to Day 2, where the "Go" stage sees the event continue as a traditional no-limit hold'em tournament.

The 1,088-strong crowd was an increase of 66 entrants from last year, resulting in a $957,440 prize pool. All 136 Day 2 players have locked in a min-cash, with the WSOP to confirm the official payouts at the start of Day 2.

Everyone through to Day 2 sits down with 160,000 chips, or 80 big blinds. Among the returning players are a whole host of stellar names, including 16 players picked for $25K Fantasy Draft.

Chance Kornuth, Yuval Bronshtein, Renan Bruschi, Patrick Leonard, and Scott Seiver are just a handful of names safely through. Although he's not posted on his X channel, it is safe to assume Seiver spent less than the 43 buy-ins he fired in 2022!

Chris Brewer, Shannon Shorr, Andrew Kelsall, Punnat Punsri, party throwing expert Chris Hunichen, Toby Lewis, and David Williams join the other $25K Fantasy Draft picks, as do Michael Moncek, Shaun Deeb, Georgios Sotiropoulos, and six-time bracelet winner Jeremy Ausmus.

You can find a full list of chip counts and the seat draw on this event's live reporting pages.

Day 2 starts at 11 a.m. local time on July 9. The plan is to play down to a winner, with players enjoying a 15-minute break every four levels, which last 30 minutes. A dinner break is planned, but the time is yet to be decided.
