After 11 levels and 11 hours of play, Day 2 of Event #83: $1,500 Eight Game Mixed has finished. From the 103 players who started the day, just seven remain in contention for the bracelet and first-place prize of $131,061.
Leading the way is John Racener with 3,929,000. Coming back in second is Josh Arieh with 2,732,000. Rounding out the podium is Maxx Coleman with 1,893,000.
A total of 494 players entered this year’s event, with 75 making the money and guaranteed a minimum cash of $3,000.

The Day’s Action
With 103 players entering the day, the bustouts came fast at the start, with the bubble approaching before the first break of the day. The bubble burst during the first two hours of play, with Japan’s Masato Yokosawa having earned the unfortunate title of bubble boy.
After the players were in the money, the eliminations came even faster than before. Some of the notables to hit the rail shortly after the bubble burst include Dylan Weisman (71st-$3,000), Jared Bleznick (64th-$3,000), and Jeff Madsen (55th-$3,000).
Scott Seiver will not be winning his fourth bracelet of the summer after he exited in 39th place for $3,447. He got the last of chips in the middle in a hand of no-limit hold’em but his ace-nine did not hold against the jack-seven suited of Qiang Xu.
Some more notable players fell next, including Robert Slezak (30th-$3,888), Matt Vengrin (13th-$6,628), and Viktor Blom (11th-$8,363).
After the exits of Howard Plant, Jeff Kimber, and Joseph Heinzmann, the remaining seven players combined at a single table, and play continued for 30 minutes at a stacked final table before they bagged for the night.
