Caballero Put to the Test

Level 14 : Blinds 3,000/5,000, 5,000 ante

Picking up the action on the river, Victor Caballero in middle position was involved in a hand with an opponent on the button.

With the board reading 10QJ62 and around 100,000 in the pot, Caballero bet 33,000. The button player responded by moving all in with the covering stack. That sent Caballero deep into the tank as he considered calling off for his remaining 140,000. After several minutes, he did let his hand go to preserve his stack as the money bubble begins to loom on the horizon.

Howard Bombs the River

Level 14 : Blinds 3,000/5,000, 5,000 ante

Nicholas Howard was heads-up on the button against the player in the cutoff on a board of 5568 with a large pot already brewing.

The cutoff checked to Howard, who bet 42,000. His opponent called.

The A filled the river and it was again checked to Howard, who cut out a bet of 147,000 and placed it into the middle — sending his opponent deep into the tank.

The cutoff eventually opted to lay his hand down and Howard showed A5 for a full house before dragging the pot.
