Broens Puts Berry to the Test

Max Broens opened to 1,500 from middle position and Hector Berry three-bet to 4,500 from the cutoff. Broens made the call.

The flop came A♠5♣7♦. Broens checked, Berry bet 3,100, Broens check-raised to 11,000 and Berry called.

On the Q♣ turn Broens bet 12,000 and was once again called by Berry.

The river was the 6♦. Broens bet 31,000 and Berry, who had just a little more than that behind, went deep into the tank.

After a few minutes a player called the clock and about 15 seconds afterwards Berry finally decided to fold, telling his opponent after the hand that he had folded two pair.

There was a raise to 1,100 from early position. Adam Travis called from the hijack and they went to the flop heads-up.

The flop came 5♣3♦3♣. The early position player check-called a bet of 1,500 from Travis.

The K♦ on the turn and the 9♥ on the river checked through and the early position played flipped over A♠K♣ for a turned pair of kings. This was good as Travis showed Q♣Q♦ for a pair of queens.

Max Broens raised to 1,500 from late position and action folded to Chanracy Khun in the cutoff who three-bet to 4,400. Action folded back to Broens who moved all in for 16,400 effective and Khun called to put himself at risk.

The board ran out 5♥2♥7♦6♠Q♦ for the ace-king to hold up for Khun to hold up and double through Broens.

A player in the big blind checked to Peter Sanneblad in the hijack, and he bet 10,000. The big blind made the call to see a river.

The river brought the 4♦ and both players checked to show down.

The big blind tabled K♥K♦ but Sanneblad had the winner with 9♠9♣ for a flopped set.

Werner Raises the River

Aaron Werner three-bet to 4,000 in the cutoff and an opponent in the hijack called.

The flop came Q♣3♦6♠ and the hijack led out for 3,500. Werner called and the 8♦ fell on the turn.

His opponent then bet another 8,200 and Werner again called. The river was the 8♥ and the hijack fired out 15,000.

Werner took more than a minute before emerging with a raise to 40,000. His opponent also took a few minutes and eventually folded.

"Sixes or queens?" tablemate Matt Salsberg asked, but Werner simply shrugged and took in the pot.

Action was caught after the flop of A♣6♥10♥ and Yaniv Shushan checked from middle position. Late position fired for 5,500 and received a call from Shushan.

The turn was the K♠ and Shushan checked to his opponent. They continued for 15,000 and received a call from Shushan.

While the river peeled the 9♠ both players were quick to check. Shushan revealed A♠10♣ to take the pot.

Welch Holds On For a Bustout

Heads-up on a board of A♦Q♥2♥3♥, Eric Welch bet 12,500 from early position before the small blind moved all in for 41,000. Welch took several minutes before calling to put his opponent at risk.

Welch had 8♥6♥ for a flush, while his opponent showed A♥Q♦ for top two pair and the nut flush draw. The river was the 7♦ and the small blind missed all of his outs as he headed to the rail with just a few minutes left in the day.

Early position opened the action with a raise to 1,400. Alejandro Guerrero called in the hijack before Patrick Leonard three-bet to 7,000 from the small blind. Only Guerrero called.

Action went check-check on the 5♥8♦7♠ flop before Guerrero fired 10,000 on the 7♥ turn. Leonard called.

Guerrero down-bet to 5,000 on the 8♥ river and Leonard went into the tank. He eventually found the call but was shown the bad news. Guerrero tabled J♥J♣ and it was good enough to drag in the pot, leaving Leonard short.
