Knee Gets Paid and Eliminates Opponent

Level 4 : Blinds 300/500, 500 ante

Action picked up on the river in a hand between Bruce Knee in the hijack and the player in the cutoff.

With about 20,000 in the pot and the board reading 6102K2, Knee fired out a bet large enough to put the cutoff all in, who had roughly 26,000 behind.

After taking some time to think about it, the cutoff put in the call and saw the bad news when Knee tabled the winner with K10 for two pair, kings and tens. The cutoff mucked his hand and was eliminated.

Nigh Sends Karnofsky Out

Level 3 : Blinds 200/400, 400 ante

Harlan Karnofsky raised from early position and was three-bet to 3,300 by Peter Nigh in middle position. Action folded back around to Karnofsky, who four-bet to 8,600.

Undeterred, Nigh put in a five-bet, which was enough to put Karnofsky all in for approximately 33,000 total. Karnofsky quickly called and hands were revealed.

Peter Nigh: AA

It was the worst scenario for Karnofsky, and the JK982 wasn't enough — eliminating the early chip leader from contention.

Tays Calls to Eliminate Nazarian

Level 3 : Blinds 200/400, 400 ante

The flop read 4104. From middle position, James Tays bet 4,300. Armond Nazarian was in early position and raised all in for 28,500.

Tays thought for a while before he called.

Armond Nazarian: 99 All in

"I need help," said Nazarain to the Commerce film crew filming him when he saw the queens. Guilherme Pessoa
Guilherme Pessoa

Heads-up on a flop of 5JK, David Nunez bet 2,200 from under the gun and Guilherme Pessoa called in the small blind.

The turn was the Q and Nunez bet 5,000. Pessoa then raised to 13,500, Nunez moved all in for around 32,000, and Pessoa snap called.

Nunez showed KQ for two pair, but Pessoa had A10 for the nut straight. Nunez needed to fill up on the river to stay alive but missed the J as he headed for the exit.

Abby Merk
Abby Merk

Abby Merk raised from the cutoff, receiving calls from David Williamson on the button and Assaf Zeharia, in the big blind.

The 1074 flop saw the action check to Merk, who continued for 800. Both opponents called.

The 8 turn saw Zeharia check. Merk bet again, this time for 2,500. Williamson put in a raise to 6,000 and Zeharia called. The action was back on Merk who bumped it up to 18,000. Williamson stepped aside and Zeharia moved all in.

Merk went deep into the tank, eventually making the call for her tournament life.

Abby Merk: 65 All in
Assaf Zeharia: J9

Both players had turned a straight, but Zeharia had the superior of the two holdings. The K river couldn't save Merk and she was sent to the rail.

Kyna England
Kyna England

As the players at her former table recounted, Kyna England was all in preflop with AxQx and up against James Dempsey who had her covered with KxKx.

England failed to improve while Dempsey ultimately made a set of kings on the turn to send England to the rail and continue to add chips to his stack.
