Day 2 of Event #8: $5,000 Pot Limit Omaha at the 2024 World Series of Poker has come to a close, and WSOP bracelet winner Bryce Yockey (6,530,000) leads the final 11 players into Day 3.

Yockey, of the United States, has nearly one million chips more than his closest competitor, fellow American Aditya Sadhu (5,825,000). Followed by Farid Jattin (5,510,000) to round the top three.

Yockey is looking to capture his second WSOP gold bracelet as he won his first back in 2017 in the $10,000 Pot-Limit Omaha Hi-Lo event. He has a lifetime record of more than $4,500,000 in earnings and is no stranger to high-pressure situations.

Day 2 Highlights

A total of 130 players returned for Day 2 after the event drew a total of 733 entries, creating a prize pool of $3,331,818.

Eshaan Bhalla

Bubble Burst

With the day beginning just 20 spots shy of the $10,000 minimum cash, it only took a couple of hours to reach the bubble. Unfortunately for Eshaan ‘BrownBalla’ Bhalla, he found himself short-stacked after a failed check-raise river bluff against Vieira. He managed to battle with his short-stack for a while longer, but eventually fell victim to a nasty river against Rostyslav Sabishchenko to exit on the stone bubble.

Phil Ivey

From there, the bust-outs were rapid, including David Prociak (106th), Tim Grau (95th), and Phil Ivey (57th) when he was defeated by Scott Eskenazi (43rd).

Among the players who advanced to Day 2 but weren't fortunate enough to make it into the money were Matt Glantz, and Shannon Shorr.

Each of the returning 11 players is guaranteed $36,526, while the winner will take home $606,654 and the WSOP gold bracelet. Players return at 12 p.m. local time on June 2 for Day 3, returning to their same seats, and blinds will resume in Level 26 at 40,000/80,000 with an 80,000 big blind ante.
