Okamoto Wins First Four Hands Heads-Up

Level 29 : Blinds 60,000/120,000, 120,000 ante

Shiina Okamoto has had a good start to the heads-up match, slowly closing the gap between the players.

The third of these hands saw Okamoto open to 275,000 from the button with J7, which Jamie Kerstetter defended with Q7.

The 1087 flop got checked by both players.

The turn was the 9, bringing in four to a straight, which was great for Okamoto, who hit the jack-high straight. Kerstetter checked and Okamoto bet 300,000. Kerstetter decided it is not the time to fold yet with her bottom pair and gutshot, and called.

The river was the 4 and, after getting another check from Kerstetter, Okamoto took it down with a bet of 800,000.

Ceci Liao

After being down under six big blinds and then doubling up, Ceci Liao was able to chip up to over 2,000,000 with a few preflop pick-ups and a hand she played against Shiina Okamoto.

On her final hand, she had 2,240,000 to start. Jamie Kerstetter opened to 200,000 from the button. Liao was in the small blind and three-bet to 850,000. Shiina Okamoto was in the big blind and shoved all in. Kerstetter folded and Liao called.

Ceci Liao: QQ All in
Shiina Okamoto: KK

Liao was at the wrong end of a cooler, and the flop K74 left her with very little hope. She would need running queens or hearts to win the hand, but the 3 on the turn had her drawing dead.

Liao Doubles Up Through Kerstetter

Level 28 : Blinds 50,000/100,000, 100,000 ante

Shiina Okamoto folded the button and Jamie Kerstetter pushed all in against the short-stacked Ceci Liao in the big blind. Liao had only 570,000 in chips, under six big blinds, and decided to call.

Ceci Liao: K4All in
Jamie Kerstetter: AJ

The flop was good for Liao, 47Q, giving her bottom pair to move her into the lead.

The turn K gave improved her to two pair, but Kerstetter turned the gutshot and the nut flush draw. She was looking for her fourth knockout of the day; but the river Q saved Liao and she doubled up.

Linda Durden Eliminated in 4th Place ($58,910)

Level 28 : Blinds 50,000/100,000, 100,000 ante
Linda Durden
Linda Durden

Linda Durden has been eliminated in the following three hands:

According to her husband and biggest fan Don, Durden is a die-hard poker fan and watches every PokerGO stream she can. She vocally spoke about more women entering the field and is determined to play more poker in the future.

On the first hand competitor Ceci Liao doubled up through Durden with almost equal stacks but Liao was at risk. Liao raised on the button to 210,000 and Durden flat called from the big blind. The flop came out with 948 and Durden announced all in and Liao made the quick call.

Ceci Liao: KK All in
Linda Durden: KJ

Although most of the rail cheered for a ten for the gut shot straight, the board did not give it and Liao doubled her stack. This left Durden with 1 big blind. The turn Q and A on the river did not change the result.
On the second hand:

Durden was all in with 1bb and the crowd shouted, "Linda, Linda, Linda, chip and a chair", the loudest one being her husband.

Linda Durden: 63 All in
Jamie Kerstetter: A5

The board came out with 97Q3K and Durden doubled up and stayed alive with her pair of threes.

On the final hand Durden was eliminated by Kerstetter.

Linda Durden: 99 All in
Jamie Kerstetter: A7

Durden called for a nine but it did not come and a massive boo was heard on the rail when the flop opened up with an ace. The official board was 3A6K2 and Durden made her exit with a positive handshake for all the ladies.

After Linda's exit and many hands later, the rail were still cheering, "We want Linda".

Kerstetter Uses Her Big Stack

Level 27 : Blinds 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante

Action folded to Jamie Kerstetter in the small blind, and she decided to call with 104. Ceci Liao had Q8 in the big blind and checked her option.

The flop came 568 and Kerstetter bet 80,000 chips. Liao called with her top pair.

The turn was the 6. Kerstetter bet 210,000. Liao thought for a while and called.

The K rolled off on the river, bringing an overcard to Liao's eights and the potential flush. Kerstetter decided to continue her story and bet 550,000, which was around half of Liao's remaining stack. Liao took a bit of time and then folded.
