Matsueda Spikes Quad Queens to Soar into the Chip Lead

Level 34 : Blinds 250,000/500,000, 500,000 ante

After a preflop betting war, Stephen Silverman, Shariq Khan, and Junya Matsueda get all of their chips into the middle, with Matsueda covering.

Shariq Khan: 1010All in
Stephen Silverman: AAAll in
Junya Matsueda: QQ

Silverman was poised in a prime position to score a boatload of chips with his aces, but his heart sank as the flop came out 3Q2 to give Matsueda a huge lead with top set of queens. And just in case there was still hope for his opponents, it disappeared quickly as the fourth Q rolled off on the turn to leave them dead in the water. The river 4 was just a formality as the monstrous pot was shipped to Matsued to catapult him into the chip lead.

Nguyen Thinks He Lost the Pot

Level 33 : Blinds 200,000/400,000, 400,000 ante

Men Nguyen moved all in for 2,875,000 from the button and was looked up by Michael Megison, in the small blind.

Men Nguyen: KJ All in
Michael Megison: AQ

The board ran out QK410A giving Megison two pair to prompt a celebration. Nguyen, rechecking the board, had to point out to Megison that his two pair were no good against his rivered straight, ensuring Nguyen the full double up. Nguyen told Megison that his celebration had convinced him he'd in fact lost the pot.

Chen's Fives Hold for Double KO

Level 33 : Blinds 200,000/400,000, 400,000 ante

Michael Maddocks moved all in preflop for 2,850,000 and then Antonis Poulengeris called for less right behind, which brought the action over to Andy Chen in the big blind.

"Ok, let's go!" He announced as he tossed in chips after thinking it over for a few moments, putting both opponents at risk.

Antonis Poulengeris: K10All in
Michael Maddocks: A10All in
Andy Chen: 55

Chen was a favorite going in with his pocket pair and with the fact his opponents were sharing outs, and the runout of 82874 kept it that way to score him the pot along with the double knockout.

Mazet Eliminated by Hall

Level 33 : Blinds 200,000/400,000, 400,000 ante
Florence Mazet
Florence Mazet

In the first hand of play, Florence Mazet open-shoved for 3,775,000 and then Shane Hall moved all in over the top for 5,750,000. Although it took some time, one by one the rest of the table regrettably got out of the way and the cards were tabled.

Florence Mazet: KQAll in
Shane Hall: AJ

Mazet would need to improve to stay alive, but the runout of 6677J only improved Hall and she was sent to the rail early in Day 3.
