Rodriguez Gets His Requested Card and Doubles Up

Level 13 : Blinds 2,000/3,000, 3,000 ante

There was a lot of action in the hand preflop, with Brian Patterson opening to 7,000 from the cutoff and Eluterio Rodriguez three-betting from the button. The raise got a cold call from Neil Kutas in the big blind. The action got back to Patterson, who decided to move all in. Rodriguez quickly called and at this point, Kutas released his hand.

Brian Patterson: QQ

Before the dealer dealt the flop, Rodriguez asked for a jack. The flop came K47 and Patterson was still way ahead with his queens.

However, Rodriguez soon got his wish: the turn was the J. Patterson couldn’t catch a queen on the river and Rodriguez doubled up, while Patterson was left on a short stack. Kutas later said he folded ace-jack, which means that Rodriguez was able to catch the case jack to stay alive.

Harrington Defends His Blinds

Level 14 : Blinds 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

Poker legend Dan Harrington is still in the field with a decent amount of chips. He successfully defended his big and small blind in back to back hands.

In the first hand, he was facing a bet of 7,000 chips on the flop of 275 and called in the big blind.

The turn was the 4 and Harrington now led for 11,000. His opponent in early position called.

The river was the 3, bringing in more straights as well as a backdoor flush. Harrington fired 30,000. This got a fold from his opponent.

The next hand, Harrington went to the flop of 252 three-way with players in the big blind and under the gun.

The under-the-gun player bet 15,000 and Harrington called. The big blind folded.

The turn 7 got checked around.

The river came the 9 and Harrington bet 20,000 and got another fold on a low coordinated board to chip up some more.
