This single-day event gets underway at 12 p.m. local time, with late registration open for 12 levels (approx. 4:30 p.m.). There will be 15-minute breaks every six levels of play. A 60-minute dinner break is scheduled after Level 21, expected to take place around 7:45 p.m. There is no reentry in this event.

The starting stack is 60,000 chips, with levels lasting 20 minutes each. Each player has a $3,000 bounty on their head and those bounties can only be redeemed after 7 p.m.

Last year’s event saw a field of 642 entries, generating a prize pool of $4,044,600. The winner was Phil Hellmuth, who defeated Justin Zaki heads-up to win $803,818 and his record-extending 17th WSOP bracelet.

"This is the first year of my career that all the great players called me great or the greatest." Hellmuth told PokerNews. "Shaun Deeb is one of the greatest players in the world. He finally understood and was giving me compliments like "you're the best player in the tournament.'"
