Kulev Gets There in Multiway Action; Arends Celebrates Too Early
Masashi Oya opened to 14,000 from early position and was called by Orpen Kisacikoglu and Chris Brewer from the cutoff and the button. Nick Petrangelo and Alex Kulev also called from the blinds.
The 9♠6♥5♥ flop checked through to the 3♥ turn. Petrangelo checked before Kulev led out for 24,000. Kisacikoglu was the only caller.
On the 6♣ river, Kulev sized down to 12,000 and received a quick call. The Bulgarian tabled 7♣4♣ for a seven-high straight and dragged in the pot.
As the hand played out, The Netherlands had scored a goal in their Euro 2024 fixture against France. Jans Arends lept from the table to celebrate with compatriot Johannes Straver, however, the celebrations took place a little too early as the goal was disallowed after a replay.
