Mathis and Neugebauer Bag Big for Day 4 In Event #54: $1,500 Millionaire Maker No-Limit Hold'em
The continuation of the 2024 World Series of Poker saw the Horseshoe and Paris Las Vegas play host to the third day of Event #54: $1,500 Millionaire Maker No-Limit Hold'em. This seven-day event drew in a massive 10,939 entrants over three starting flights for a total prize pool of $14,603,565. After an additional 10 hours of play on Monday, 315 returned to the felt this morning to battle it out on Day 3.
After an additional 10 levels of play, just 45 contenders remain in the race towards the second and first-place prizes of $1,001,170 and $1,250,125, respectively, as well as the gold WSOP bracelet.
When all was said and done, it quickly became apparent that Max Neugebauer had solidified himself as one of the biggest stacks in the room, having accumulated 13,025,000 by the conclusion of play. Neugebauer already has one of the most prestigious pieces of WSOP hardware, having claimed his maiden World Series win by taking down the €10,000 WSOP Europe Main Event in Rozvadov last year. A win in the Millionaire Maker would give Neugebauer the second seven-figure score of his career and his first bracelet on American soil.
However, Neugebauer isn't alone at the top as Martin Mathis managed to bag the exact same stack of 13,025,000. Mathis is on the hunt for both the biggest score of his poker career and the first World Series of Poker bracelet to his name.

Many notable names found their way to the felt this morning, including a plethora of past bracelet winners. Timur Margolin made a deep run but was denied his second bracelet of the series and the fourth bracelet of his career, having crashed out in 85th for $14,890. Other notable names to hit the rail included Martin Jacobson (132nd), Chris Moorman (178th) and Joseph Cheong (222nd) - their only consolation being yet another WSOP cash to add to their already fruitful poker careers.
Those more fortunate in progressing to Day 4 included Day 2 chip leader Sebastien Sigouin (9,400,000), three-time bracelet winner Sean Troha (4,375,000) and American professional poker player Jason Wheeler (5,000,000). Wheeler will be looking to improve upon his largest World Series score of $418,122 he set for himself in the $1,500 No Limit Hold'em back in 2009, as well as his bracelet win of 2021 in the $800 No Limit Hold'em Deepstack.
Day 4 will commence tomorrow, June 26, at 11 a.m. local time. Play resumes on Level 32 with blinds at 125,000/250,000 with a 250,000 big blind ante.
