Day 1 of the inaugural Event #41: $1,500 No-Limit Hold’em & Pot-Limit Omaha Double Board Bomb Pot was an action-filled, smashing success with 1,312 entries being recorded; this generated a massive prize pool of $1,751,520. Only 167 competitors advanced to Day 2 and all eyes will be on the gold bracelet and $270,820 first place prize.

Dong Chen bagged just under a million in chips and has over sixty big blinds more than his next closest competitors; Gabriel Schroeder (640,000) and Ireland's David Callaghan (638,000).

There will be plenty of previous bracelet winners looking to increase their count. Shaun Deeb (247,00) registered late and wasted no time spinning up a stack. Last year’s Player of the Year, Ian Matakis (206,000) hopped from one table to another and continued his upward trend. Those sweating John Riordan (182,000) in the $25K Fantasy draft will also be glad to see he has advanced to Day 2.

Plenty of notable players ran deep enough to make the money but short of Day 2, including Jordan Spurlin, Ethan “Rampage” Yau, and Erik Mason.

All players returning to Day 2 are guaranteed $3,011 and are slated to play down to five remaining. Action was fast on Day 1 with a bomb pot played every nine hands. Eliminations can be expected to occur swiftly again.

Play will resume at noon local time at 3,000/6,000/6,000 big blind ante in the Horseshoe Event Center. Levels are extended to one hour on Day 2 and there will be a 60-minute dinner break at approximately 6:30 p.m.
