Daniel Mayoh Bags the Lead in Day 1 of $1,500 H.O.R.S.E.; Defending Champion Dzivielevski Progresses
After ten hours of mixed-game action, Daniel Mayoh has emerged as the Day 1 chip leader in Event #35: $1,500 H.O.R.S.E. after bagging up 309,000. Just behind him is Bryan Jolly, who managed to end the day with 307,000 by the night’s end here at the Horseshoe and Paris Las Vegas.
Mayoh is no stranger to poker success, having already won two Aussie Millions rings, with the most recent coming back in 2020. The Aussie also has many mixed-game tournament cashes but only one cash in the WSOP dating back to 2022 when he placed 34th in a Mixed Big Bet event for $4,375.

The event drew a total of 835 entries, just shy of last year’s 836, and generated a prize pool of $1,114,725. A total of 126 players will make the money and earn at least $3,004 for their efforts. The eventual champion will take home $193,545 in addition to the coveted gold bracelet. Of the 835 entrants who joined the fray on Day 1, just 210 will return for Day 2.
Many notables earned a Day 2 berth, including David Bach (291,000), Scott Clements (217,000), Todd Brunson (135,500), David Williams (81,500) Ari Engel (81,000), Linda Johnson (62,000), John Racener (56,000), Bill Chen (44,500), and defending champion Yuri Dzivielevski, who ended Day 1 with a very respectable 179,000.
Among the less fortunate who didn’t find a bag were Mike Matusow, David "Bakes" Baker, Phil Hellmuth, Jeffrey Lisandro and Brian Rast.
Day 2 is scheduled to begin on Thursday, June 13 at 1 p.m. local time and continue for an additional ten levels. Play will resume on Level 16, which features 2,500-5,000 blinds with 5,000-10,000 betting limits. Levels on Day 2 will be extended to 60 minutes each and players will get 15-minute breaks after every two levels. An extended 60-minute dinner break will be held after Level 21, which is expected to occur at approximately 8:30 p.m.
