Medley Applies Maximum Pressure

Level 13 : Blinds 2,000/3,000, 3,000 ante

Action picked up in a hand involving David Medley and WSOP bracelet winner Kathy Liebert on a board showing AK9.

Liebert, who was in early position, checked to Medley, who bet 15,000. Liebert responded with a check-raise to 40,000, which Medley called after a moment.

The dealer then placed 8 on the turn, and Liebert checked. Medley reacted by sizing up with an all-in bet for a little less than 150,000.

The 2010 inductee of the Women in Poker Hall of Fame went deep in the tank. Liebert used time to glance at Medley before studying the board. She also counted out her chips, and then stacked them.

As time elapsed, time was called on Liebert. A tournament director arrived and instructed Liebert she had 30 seconds to act and began the countdown. Just as time was about to expire, Liebert folded her hand.

“Show the bluff; show eight-seven of spades,” a player at the table said.

Medley showed one card, the A, before tossing his hand to the dealer.
