Players Are Gearing Up for the $2,500 No-Limit Hold'em Freezeout
Welcome back to PokerNews, the official media partner of the 2024 World Series of Poker and home of live updates from all bracelet events.
The action will soon be starting in Event #34: $2,500 Freezeout No-Limit Hold'em at Horseshoe and Paris, Las Vegas. This three-day event will begin at 12 p.m. with 40-minute levels and 35,000 starting stacks. Play will continue for 15 blind levels or until 15 percent of the field remains (whichever is later).
Players will get a 20-minute break every three blind levels with a one-hour dinner break after Level 9 (expected to be around 6:40 p.m.).
Day 2 will then resume on June 13 at 12 p.m. Levels will be 60 minutes on Day 2 and play will continue for another ten levels.
Like many of the lower-stakes no-limit hold'em events, last year's $2,500 NLH freezeout was a long one. The large field resulted in a prize pool of $2,534,275. The exhausted winner, Valentino Konakchiev had to outlast 1,137 other players and beat Andres Korn heads up to win his bracelet and the $435,924 first-place prize.
“I’ve been dreaming about it since I’ve been watching poker when I was 15 on TV, and I can’t believe it actually happened,” Konakchiev told PokerNews in his post-win interview.
