Sternheimer Shows an Eight to Take a Massive Pot

Level 15 : Limits 10,000/20,000, 0 ante

Philip Sternheimer raised under the gun and picked up three callers, including Renan Bruschi on the button, Eric Wasserson in the small blind, and big blind Anthony Lazar.

Wasserson drew two, Lazar three, Sternheimer one, and Bruschi two. Sternheimer bet and Bruschi raised.

Wasserson called while Lazar got out of the way. Sternheimer reraised and both Bruschi and Wasserson called.

Wasserson drew two, Bruschi one, and Sternheimer stood pat. Sternheimer then bet and only Bruschi called.

Sternheimer again stood pat and Bruschi drew one. Both players checked and Sternheimer showed 8x7x6x5x2x. Bruschi tossed 7x4x3x2x into the muck as Sternheimer took the big pot.

A hand earlier, Justin Saliba had eliminated Ian Johns with 8x7x6x4x2x. Johns broke a ten as he drew one on the last draw but couldn't catch up as he was sent to the rail.
