Kurtz Climbs the Chip Counts
Back-to-back hands have seen Jeffrey Kurtz shoot up the counts with a stack of around 850,000.
In the first hand, a board of J♣4♦8♥3♣Q♦ had around 300,000 chips in it and Kurtz had shoved the river into Nicolas Vayssieres. After around two minutes, Kurtz called the clock on his opponent and during the 30-second countdown, Vayssieres folded.
The next hand that was dealt, John Szczypka raised to 31,000 from early position and Kurtz three-bet the button to 70,000, Szczypka called.
A flop of K♥K♣4♥ was fanned and Szczypka check-shoved all in for around 200,000 over Kurtz's bet, which Kurtz quickly called.
John Szczypka: A♣Q♠
Jeffrey Kurtz: K♦9♦
Szczypka was drawing dead by the turn as the 7♦2♥ runout confirmed his elimination and Kurtz was pushed the pot.
