Daniel Vampan Leads Final Ten into the Final Day of Event #25: $3,000 Limit Hold'em (6-Handed)

Day 2 of Event #25: $3,000 Limit Hold’em (6-Handed) at the 2024 World Series of Poker (WSOP) at the Horseshoe and Paris Las Vegas has officially concluded. After ten action-packed levels, only ten players remain from the 76 hopefuls who had advanced to Day 2.

Daniel Vampan ended the night with a massive chip lead over the rest of his competitors, finishing with 2,470,000 chips worth 31 big bets going into the final day. Vampan has WSOP career earnings of $445,367, cashing the 2022 $10,000 Main Event in 291st for $40,900 and the 2023 Main Event for $345,000 with an incredible 24th-place finish. His nearest rival is Frank Yakubson (1,650,000), followed by Daniel Maczuga (1,500,000) to round the top three.

Bubble Action

It didn’t take long for the 76 players to fall to just 39 players, where the hand-for-hand play began. Jason Papastavrou was short-stacked and folded for a few hands before getting his last 28,000 in the middle with pocket fives, but couldn’t crack the aces of the eventual Day 2 chip leader Vampan as he was eliminated on the stone bubble.

The 2023 reigning champion Jason Daly was unable to score the back-to-back victories but did manage to cash for the second year in a row as he bowed out in 34th place ($6,024).

Others to make the money but not quite advance to the final day include, David “Bakes” Baker (37th-$6,024), Matt Glantz (33rd -$6,024 ), Yueqi Zhu (30th-$6,024), David “ODB” Baker (29th-$6,175), and Phil Hellmuth.

However, not all that started the day were so fortunate to make it into the money, including Main Event champions Erik Seidel, Koray Aldemir, and Joe McKeehen, as well as bracelet winners Robert Mizrachi, Maxx Coleman, and Josh Arieh.

Day 3 will resume in the Horseshoe Event Center at 1 p.m. local time on June 10, with the final ten players having $11,157 locked up, but all eyes will be on the $148,635 first-place prize, along with the WSOP gold bracelet.
