Matikis Washes Shorr Away

Level 4 : Blinds 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante

Ian Matakis raised to 5,000 from the hijack and both Brek Schutten in the small blind and Shannon Shorr in the big blind called.

The flop came out 58K and action checked around to Matakis who bet 7,000 which only Shorr called.

The turn J saw Shorr check over to Matakis who bet 24,000. Shorr raised to 60,000 and Matakis called.

Shorr put in a bet of 102,000 on the Qx river, leaving himself 3,000 behind and Matakis moved all in which saw Shorr sigh as he put in the last 3,000.

Shannon Shorr: J8 All in
Ian Matakis: KQ

Shorr turned jacks and eights which was good until the river gave Matakis kings up which was good for the pot and the WSOP player of the year raked in the pot.
