Bhend Sets the Trap; Holtz Manoeuvres Wisely

Level 15 : Blinds 3,000/5,000, 5,000 ante
Mike Holtz
Mike Holtz

PokerNews pocast co-host Mike Holtz opened to 18,000 second to act. Remy Bhend defended his big blind.

The AKJ flop checked through to the 8 turn. Bhend bet pot (44,000), and Holtz wasted little time in calling.

The 10 completed the board and Bhend slowed down with a check. Holtz quickly checked back.

Bhend had it all with his KQJ10, which was good for Broadway. Holtz couldn't match the hand and mucked.

Li and Lowery Above 500K

Level 15 : Blinds 3,000/5,000, 5,000 ante

Big Stack Pei Li opened to 12,000 from under the gun and the big blind was the only caller.

On the Q98 flop, the big blind check-called for his last 13,000 after Li put in a stack of T-5,000 chips.

Big Blind: A882All in
Pei Li: A542

The 6 turn and 5 river saw Li make a flush along with the nut low. The blind had the same eight-six to retain 25% of the pot.

The pot took Li over the 500,000 threshold, a feat that only appears to be matched by Daniel Lowery, who is encroaching on the 600,000 mark.
