Cong Pham Eliminated in 12th Place ($535,000)

Level 36 : Blinds 400,000/800,000, 800,000 ante
Cong Pham
Cong Pham

Cong Pham open-jammed a stack of 2,400,000 in the cutoff and Jan-Peter Jachtmann called in the big blind.

Cong Pham: 87
Jan-Peter Jachtmann: A2

Pham needed to hit an eight or a seven and didn't get much help from the 942 flop. The 5 turn gave him additional outs with a gunshot but the 4 bricked off on the river to mark his elimination in 12th place for $535,000 as Jachtmann received a small boost after taking a big hit the previous hand.

The deep run gives the Florida native his biggest career cash, besting his third-place finish in the 2013 Borgata Poker Open that brought him $301,225.

Holzner Chips Up Without a Shove

Level 36 : Blinds 400,000/800,000, 800,000 ante

Daniel Weinman raised to 1,600,000 in the hijack with K7 and earned calls from Daniel Holzner on the button as well as Juan Maceiras in the big blind.

The AA10 flop was checked to Holzner, who held KQ and had 1,200,000 behind. He bet all but one T-100,000 chip. Maceiras folded his 72, and Weinman could all but grin while he was contemplating the decision.

Eventually, Weinman folded, and the rail from Italy celebrated.

Severe Short Stacks on the Main Feature Table

Level 36 : Blinds 400,000/800,000, 800,000 ante

Juan Maceiras raised to 1,600,000 from under the gun with A9 and it folded all the way to Alec Torelli in the big blind, who had a mere seven blinds after he had paid the big blind ante.

Torelli went into the tank for more than three minutes during which he engaged with his opponent in table chat before he eventually folded his Q9.

The stack of Torelli tumbled further and he is one of three severe short stacks on the same table.
