Sachin Joshi
Sachin Joshi

Daniel Weinman raised to 650,000 from the cutoff before Sachin Joshi three-bet to 1,430,000 on the button. Weinman then shoved all in and Joshi called for his last 5,430,000.

Sachin Joshi: KK
Daniel Weinman: 99

Joshi was ahead and poised for a big double-up with his kings as the 352 flop kept him in the lead. The K turn improved him to a set and left Weinman drawing dead heading to the 7 river.

Pateychuk Makes the Right Call to Double Through Vampan

Level 32 : Blinds 150,000/300,000, 300,000 ante
Andrey Pateychuk
Andrey Pateychuk

Andrey Pateychuk completed in the small blind and Daniel Vampan checked his option in the big blind.

Pateychuk bet 300,000 on the 25Q flop and Vampan called. Pateychuk then sized up to 1,500,000 on the 4 turn and Vampan responded by raising all in. Pateychuk called off with the effective stack of 6,500,000.

Andrey Pateychuk: QJ
Daniel Vampan: 32

Pateychuk arguably made the right call with top pair but there were plenty of cards he needed to dodge as Vampan had bottom pair and an open-ended straight draw.

"Pair the board!" someone at the table joked ambiguously.

The river brought the 8 and Pateychuk's queens held up to secure the double-up.

Henry Chan: 88
Jan-Peter Jachtmann: 99

Chan was in trouble with Jachtmann holding a pair one-better than his. The board ran out K65K3 and Jachtmann's pair of nines held up to eliminate Chan.

Level 32 : Blinds 150,000/300,000, 300,000 ante
Mark Teltscher
Mark Teltscher

Juan Maceiras Lapido opened to 600,000 from early position and the action folded to big blind Mark Teltscher, who made the call. The two saw a flop of 398 and Teltscher checked to Maceiras Lapido, who made a continuation-bet of 800,000. Teltscher then thought for a bit before going all in for around 5,000,000 chips and Maceiras Lapido snap-called.

Mark Teltscher: Q9
Juan Maceiras Lapido: 1010

Teltscher had flopped top pair but was still an underdog to Maceiras Lapido's overpair. Teltscher would receive no help on the A7 runout and he proudly left the tournament area after a deep run in the 2023 Main Event.

Adam Walton raised to 600,000 in early position and Andrew Hulme called on the button. Bryan Obregon ripped all in for 6,825,000 from the small blind and Walton called, prompting Hulme to fold his A9.

Bryan Obregon: AK
Adam Walton: JJ

It was a coin flip but the flop of J62 put Walton well out front with a set of jacks. The Q on the turn made things sweaty but the 7 on the river bricked out for Obregon who exited the tournament area.

Jose Aguilera
Jose Aguilera

Jose Aguilera raised to 650,000 from the cutoff before Daniel Weinman three-bet to 2,000,000 on the button. The blinds both folded, and Aguilera called.

The flop came 278 and Aguilera checked to Weinman, who continued for 2,500,000. Aguilera called and both players checked the 9 turn.

Aguilera led out for 5,600,000 on the 6 river and Weinman spent nearly two minutes in the tank before putting in a call. Aguilera had 5x5x and Weinman mucked as Aguilera's rivered straight gave him the massive pot.

Maurice Hawkins
Maurice Hawkins

Maurice Hawkins moved all in for 2,350,000 from early position, Joe Ghio reshoved for 10,000,000 in the hijack, and the rest of the table got out of the way.

Maurice Hawkins: AJ
Joe Ghio: AA

"I have spades. Spades work," Hawkins said, already standing up with his backpack around his shoulders, heading to the 998 flop.

"That's not going to do it," he added. "I don't think i can win. Oh, yes I can, ten-seven."

"Nine-nine for a chop," a tablemate offered.

"Nah, nah, nah. It's easier to get ten-seven," Hawkins replied as the 8 fell on the turn, leaving him drawing dead.

"That's not going to do it. Why can't you have ace-king, my guy?" Hawkins asked Ghio after hitting the J on the river that wasn't enough for the WSOP Circuit ring king, who instead hit the rail in 35th place.
