Juan Pardo
Juan Pardo

On the second hand of the day, Juan Pardo got his final 18,000 chips in the middle against Lok Chan preflop.

Juan Pardo: KJ
Lok Chan: A6

Chan flopped an ace on 3AQ. Pardo still had a gutshot straight draw, but it did not come in on the Q turn or the 8 river.

He was one of the first few players to see their Main Event dreams get crushed on Day 3.

Rassoul Malboubi
Rassoul Malboubi

Rassoul Malboubi started the day with a healthy stack of 304,000 chips, but he had just 50,000 of them left when he pushed all in from under the gun. The player in the next seat over made the call while the rest of the table got out of the way.

Rassoul Malboubi: AK
Opponent: JJ

The board brought a sweat when a flush draw turned for Malboubi on 6535, but the 4 river bricked out. Malboubi followed many others to the rail in the first level of Day 3.

Dietrich Fast
Dietrich Fast

Dietrich Fast got his final 25,000 chips in the middle preflop and Brandon Lee made the call.

Dietrich Fast: 88
Brandon Lee: KJ

Lee sprung into the lead on the J96 flop, and Fast packed up his stuff as the Q turn and 10 river upgraded both players to a straight, with Lee having the better end of it.

In the meantime, Milen Stefanov and Manny Olszynko have also departed from this table in a flurry of early Day 3 eliminations, while Bart Hanson has chipped up a bit from the start of day.

Tom Dwan Goes Down to Aces

Level 13 : Blinds 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante
Tom Dwan
Tom Dwan

Tom Dwan opened early to 10,000 with K5, then called a three-bet from Brian Atchison to 25,000 in the hijack with the rockets. The flop came 310J and Dwan check-called a 55,000 bet into a pot of 60,000.

The 5 hit the turn, and Dwan once again checked to Atchison, who made it 110,000. Dwan check-shoved with his pair and flush draw, but Atchison nearly beat him into the pot with his aces. The 10 river couldn't save Dwan and he hit the rail from the feature table.

The Phantom of the Horseshoe is Gone

Level 13 : Blinds 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

Ronald Hayhurst started today with 129,000 chips and has just been eliminated after being forced all in from the big blind.

However, Hayhurst actually never sat down. His seat had remained empty throughout the day, paying the blinds and antes and receiving two cards no one would ever get to play with over and over again.

After three levels on Day 3, it was finally the end of Hayhurst's Main Event adventure.
