Erick Lindgren
Erick Lindgren

The player on the button raised to 600 and Erick Lindgren in the small blind and the big blind both called. The flop came down K63 and Lindgren bet out 500. The big blind called and the button folded.

The turn brought the 9 and both players checked.

The river was the 4 and with that last scary spade both players checked.

The big blind turned over 33 for a flopped set and Lindgren turned over 44 for the rivered, higher set.

The blind player said, "Write that he ran down a set of threes."

First Break of the Day

Level 1 : Blinds 100/200, 200 ante

Players have been sent on their first break of the day and will return to blinds of 200/300 with a 300 big blind ante. Day 1d is in full swing, though, and the energy in the room is truly tangible!

No Lov on the River

Sofia Lovgren
Sofia Lovgren

The player in early position opened to 700 and was called by Sofia Lovgren in the hijack and Steven Veneziano in the small blind. The big blind also decided to come along and the four of them went to the flop of 473 which checked around.

On the turn Q, Veneziano led out for 1,600 and only received one call from Lovgren so the two went heads-up to the river 10.

Veneziano thought for a second before placing out a bet of 4,200 and Lovgren promptly folded to award him the pot.

In a pot containing around 29,000 with two players involved, the board already showed 5QKJ when Giovanni Zanette bet 9,000 and Paul Guichard tanked a minute before calling.

The 7 brought a pair on the river and this time Zanette check-called Guichard for 6,700. The latter tabled AA and it was good to take the pot as Zanette mucked his hand.

Both players checked to the river on the QQJ83 board and Fields checked once more to Schwartz who dropped a bet of 4,000 across the line. Fields didn't take too long before surrendering the pot.

Matthew Beinner
Matthew Beinner

Alexandru Papazian opened 800 in early position and Jeffrey Tomlinson called from a couple of spots to his left before Matthew Beinner three-bet 3,600. Both Papazian and Tomlinson called.

All three players checked the J76 flop to see the 7 hit the turn.

Papazian checked once more before Tomlinson dropped a red chip across the line for a bet of 5,000. Beinner called quickly and Papazian took a few extra seconds before doing the same.

The 2 landed on the river and the action checked to Beinner as he blasted 12,000 across the line, which was enough to drag the pot as both players cards hit the muck.
