Faris Can't Beat a Set

Level 3 : Blinds 200/400, 400 ante

Joshua Faris raised to 900 on the button and both of the blinds called. The flop came K62 and the action checked around to the A on the turn.

The small blind led out with a bet of 1,700 which got the big blind to fold but Faris stuck around for the 4 on the river. With four spades on the board, both players tapped the table and the small blind tabled 66 for a set of sixes to scoop the pot.

Rabichow Wins the Blind Battle

Level 3 : Blinds 200/400, 400 ante

Action folded to heads-up specialist Kevin Rabichow in the small blind who opted to flat. The big blind checked and they were off to a flop.

The 1077 flop landed and action checked through to a 8 turn. Action checked through once more. The river brought a 4 and Rabichow then put his foot on the gas and bet close to pot at 1,200. The big blind went into the tank for over a minute and eventually called.

Rabichow tabled K3 for a rivered flush and the big blind mucked.

Mitchell Takes Chips From Lenter

Level 3 : Blinds 200/400, 400 ante

Brandon Mitchell opened to 800 from middle position, and was called by Scott Lenter in the cutoff and by the small blind.

The flop was 10K8, and Mitchell bet 2,000. Lenter called, but the small blind folded at that point.

On the turn Q, Mitchell checked and let Lenter bet 4,000. But Mitchell didn't give up and called.

When the river J came, Mitchell took over the lead and sized it up to 17,000. But it was too much for Lenter, who folded.

Russ Battles Elias

Darren Elias opened to 1,000 from under the gun but was then immediately three-bet to 2,100 from Robert Russ in middle position.

The action folded back to Elias who made the call to see the flop of 5QJ.

Elias checked to the aggressor who kept on aggressing with a bet of 3,000 which Elias called and they went to the turn 9.

Elias checked once more to Russ who then announced a bet of 8,500 and Elias hastily tossed his cards into the muck and began preparing for the next hand.

Alex Foxen opened from early position and a player in middle position three-bet to 3,500. Foxen made the call.

Both players checked the 6J2 flop leading to the Q on the turn. Foxen bet 3,500 and received a call from his opponent.

On the 9 river Foxen made a roughly pot-sized bet of 14,500. The player in middle position thought for about one minute before surrendering the pot.

Exactly four years ago to the day, the World Series of Poker (WSOP) Main Event experienced one of its wildest sessions ever. One player was tossed from poker's most prestigious tournament for, no joke, exposing his genitalia in the middle of a hand and then throwing his shoe at the dealer. And that's only part of the craziness that transpired.

Later in the day, patrons inside the Rio, which hosted the WSOP at the time, experienced an earthquake that sent shockwaves through the famous Amazon Room. Kevin Martin captured a video of the aftermath.
