Scroggins Gets His Watch's Worth
Daniel Scroggins had just taken down a pot after three-betting from the small blind as Harsheel Kothari commented that his Scroggins' watch was probably worth "more than 20 buy-ins."
"About 15," Scroggins said casually as he stretched out his wrist.
The next hand, Scroggins opened to 110,000 on the button and Mason Vieth three-bet to 325,000 in the big blind. Scroggins and his expensive watch called.
Vieth continued for 155,000 on the J♠Q♠K♥ flop and Scroggins called. Vieth then checked on the 9♠ turn and Scroggins checked back.
The 3♥ river completed the board and Vieth bet 160,000. Scroggins took some time before raising to 725,000 Vieth slammed a chip in frustration that landed in the lap of the player to his left. Vieth then rubbed his forehead and shuttered before throwing his cards past the muck to land right in front of Scroggins in the nine-seat, who took down the pot.
