Emperador Makes Wild Hero Call on the Stone Bubble Against Vampan

On a completed board of J♠4♥3♦6♠A♣ with around 220,000 chips in the pot, Diego Emperador checked from the big blind to his opponent Daniel Vampan in the hijack. Vampan then bet 600,000, enough to cover Emperador's stack of 325,000.

Emperador entered the tank for several minutes. Eventually, the floor came over because it was the last table still playing, and Emperador asked for some clarification about bubble rules. A few more minutes then went by before Vampan called the clock, giving Emperador only 30 seconds to make a crucial decision.

When the countdown reached five seconds left, Emperador slammed in the calling chips and players were told to keep their cards face down to give ample time for media to arrive.

When everyone had gathered, Vampan showed his bluff with 7♠3♠ for a measly pair of threes, and Emperador elicited some gasps from the crowd when he tabled his K♣J♦ for just a bluff-catcher with a pair of jacks. He doubled up on the stone bubble and play continued onward.
