Schroeder Finds Kings for the Knockout

Level 9 : Blinds 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante

A player opened to 4,000 from middle position and was called by a player in the cutoff. The button then moved all in for 38,000. Derek Schroeder in the big blind took some time before opting to make the call with chips behind. Both the middle position player and the cutoff got out of the way to put the button officially at risk.

Button Player: AQ
Derek Schroeder: KK

Schroeder had found kings at an opportune moment to put himself in good position to get the knockout. The J710 flop immediately made things dicey for the cowboys as the at risk player could now hit a king, heart or ace to take the lead. Nothing changed on the 4 turn, though, with the J river failing to improve the button and handing the pot to Schroeder.
