Rushton Gets There on the Turn

Level 8 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

A player in the cutoff bet 3,000 on a flop of 1065 before Brian Rushton, in the big blind, raised to 11,000. The cutoff then moved all in and Rushton called for around 30,000.

Rushton was up against his opponent's set of sixes and was looking to complete his draws. The K on the turn was the help he was looking for as Rushton now made a flush. The J river failed to pair the board and Rushton doubled up.

"Trying to do what the guy did last year," a tablemate asked Rushton, evoking Espen Jorstad's run last year when he went from 17,000 on Day 2 to the title.
