Duran Spikes the River to Bust Marchese
Level 6
: Blinds 400/800, 800 ante
Tom Marchese and Robert Duran built a pot of around 10,000 heading to the 9♣3♦J♠ flop when Marchese bet 3,500 from the button.
Duran called under the gun, then the 10♥ fell on the turn. He checked over to Marchese, who moved all in for 11,900.
Duran tanked for around two minutes as he counted out his remaining stack before calling with A♦Q♠. Marchese had Q♦Q♥ and was a favorite to double up.
The river, though, brought the K♠ and Duran led out a fist pump as he made Broadway to send Marchese to the rail early on Day 2.
