Richards Backs into Broadway

Level 5 : Blinds 300/600, 600 ante

The cutoff raised 1,500 and the button called before JR Richards three-bet to 6,300 in the small blind. Matthew Nowicki called in the big blind and both the cutoff and button got out of the way.

The dealer fanned a flop of J88 and Richards continued for 9,500. Nowicki called.

The 10 landed on the turn and Richards checked, and Nowicki did the same.

When the K completed the board, Richards paused for a moment and asked, "What you got young man?"

Nowicki stayed quiet with a puzzled look on his face as the action wasn't complete yet. Richards eventually dropped a green chip in the middle for a bet of 25,000 and Nowicki made the call.

Richards tabled AQ for running Broadway and Nowicki looked sick as he held onto his cards for a few seconds and stared at the board. Nowicki showed his K10 before the dealer sent the pot Richards way.
