Chidwick Doubles Through Kelsall to Leave Him Short

AJ Kelsall shoved from the small blind for Stephen Chidwick to ask for a count. The dealer confirmed Kelsall held 3,825,000 which covered the 3,700,000 Chidwick had. He considered it for a bit and then made the call for his tournament life.

The flop came K♥A♦K♠ for Chidwick to hit two pair.

The turn was the 9♣ and changed nothing as Kelsall still needed a queen to take Chidwick out.

The 10♣ on the river completed the board for Kelsall to be left with a mere 125,000.

Alexandre Reard opened to 750,000 out of the small blind and AJ Kelsall called in the big blind.

Reard continued for 525,000 following the 8♦5♦3♣ flop only to see Kelsall raise to 1,400,000. After some thought and checking to see how much Kelsall had behind, Reard called.

The 3♦ turn saw Reard check and Kelsall continue his aggression with a bet of 1,700,000. Reard responded by moving all in, getting a snap fold from Kelsall.

Liberto was well ahead with his pocket pair but Reard did pick up a Broadway draw on the 8♠J♦K♠ flop. The A♠ turn suddenly left Liberto on the ropes heading to the river and his exit in fourth place was confirmed after the 3♦ completed the board.

Liberto check-called a continuation of 350,000 from Reard on the 10♥5♠2♠ flop.

Both players checked through the 7♠ turn to the Q♠ river at which point Liberto bet a hefty 1,125,0000. Reard thought for a moment before flicking in the call holding J♥10♠. Liberto could only show A♥9♣ for the bluff to send the pot over to his opponent.

The flop came 10♣5♥2♥ and they both checked to see the 7♦ on the turn. Liberto bet 350,000 for Reard to call.

The river completed the board with the 7♠. Liberto checked for the final time but Reard bet 775,000 to send Liberto into the tank. He counted out some chips, looked at his hole cards a few times, cut out calling chips and then called but mucked when Reard tabled the J♣10♥ for two pair, tens and sevens.
