"Deuces Never Loses"?
Level 12
: Blinds 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante
Andrew Park threw his chips in from the hijack position for about 20,000 and David Hatfield in the big blind made the call. As the cards flipped over Park laughingly stated, "Only twos, I have two overs."
Andrew Park: Q♠3♠
David Hatfield: 2♣2♠
The board came out with something for everyone — 5♠4♦3♣ — but Park was in the lead with a pair of threes. The turn 3♦ gave Park trips. Hatfield would need a two on the river for a boat, or an ace or six for the straight. But a J♥ was a blank and Park received the win.
"I thought deuces never loses," Hatfield said after the dust settled.
