Stinson Announces Presence Within Span of Three Hands
Tom Stinson had himself a sequence within a span of three hands during the middle period of Level 10.
After winning a pot from two-time WSOP braclet winner Erick Lindgren, Stinson scored a knockout just two hands later against Eric Wasserson, who had less than 5,000 to start the hand.
On a board of 2♠8♣3♥, Stinson, who was under the gun, led out with a bet and Wasserson and another player called. The turn brought 8♠, and Stinson continued the action with a bet, prompting Wasserson to move all in. The player to Wasserson’s immediate left folded, and Stinson called to put Wasserson’s tournament life at risk.
Stinson tabled 5♦5♣, while Wasserson showed 6♥5♦ and drawing to a gut-shot straight and one of the remaining sixes in the deck.
The river, however, brought a harmless 9♣ to give Stinson the win and end Wasserson’s tournament.
