Day 1 of Event #61 $1,000 Super Seniors No Limit Hold’em has ended, and yet again, another record has been broken at the 2023 World Series of Poker at the Horseshoe and Paris Las Vegas. A massive 3,122 players created a new record field for the event exclusively for players aged over 60 years old, smashing past last year’s attendance of 2,669.

Heading into Day 2 as the chip leader is Kevin Durgin with 392,000, closely followed by Greg White with 384,000. Frenchman Christian Guittier, who was in the chip lead for most of the day, returns on June 28 with the third largest stack with 366,500 and is in contention to win the WSOP gold bracelet and the top prize of $371,063.

Four-time bracelet winner Farzad Bonyadi bagged up 261,000 chips, which is enough for eighth-place at the restart.
