Hellmuth Eliminated as He Goes to War with Ruben and Ashby

Level 19 : Blinds 6,000/12,000, 18,000 ante

From early position Phil Hellmuth raised 40,000, leaving just 13,000 behind. It folded around to Brad Ruben in the big blind, who reraised to put Hellmuth all in.

Hellmuth called, and each drew one. Hellmuth declared jack-six, and Ruben was disappointed to find he'd paired threes.

On the next hand Hellmuth raised 27,000 from under the gun, and then Ruben shoved all in from the small blind. "The script is written Phil. You're going to spin this up to 600,000," Hellmuth said, mostly to himself before folding.

"Did you have an eight draw?" asked the sixteen-time bracelet winner. Ruben acknowledged he had.

Unfortunately minutes later Richard Ashby tangled with Hellmuth. Hellmuth ended up all in and busted when Ashby made a nine-eight and Hellmuth paired sevens.
