Taylor and Nia Make A Gentlemen's Agreement, Taylor Pays Up
Michael Nia raised from early position to 5,500 and got one caller in Stuart Taylor from late position leading to a K♥5♦3♣ flop.
Nia tossed out a bet of 3,000 and Taylor called, sending the pair to the 3♥ turn.
Nia continued with another bet, this time to 5,000. Taylor asked, "Why so small?' before thinking briefly and deciding to toss in another call to bring the 10♠ out on the river.
Nia continued for a third time but this time for a much larger bet of 35,000 and sent Taylor into the tank.
While working out the hand, Taylor engaged into a friendly conversation with Nia that eventually led the pair to an agreement; if Taylor did, in fact, decide to fold, he would show his hand and if his hand was better than Nia's, Nia would have to show and pay Taylor $100.
Conversely, if it was shown that Taylor's hand was the second best of the two, Taylor would have to send $50 across the table to Nia.
A clock was eventually called by another player at the table and as the clock counted down to zero, Taylor folded and tabled the Q♥Q♦ face up.
Nia, as agreed upon, turned over the K♠3♠ to show that he did, in fact, have the better holdings and with that, Taylor, a man of his word, took out $50 and paid Nia in what became a very fun and friendly confrontation.
