Verenko Playing the Wrong Game? Nope!

Level 18 : Limits 20,000/40,000, 0 ante
Roman Verenko
Roman Verenko

Seven Card Stud

Roman Verenko: Xx2/272
Alex Livingston: XxXx/K410 - folded fifth street

Roman Verenko brought in then defended his bring-in to a completion from Alex Livingston.

On fourth street, Verenko check-raised a bet from Livingston, which gave the Canadian a moment of pause. Ultimately he called and on fifth street now faced a bet from Verenko with his open pair of deuces.

Livingston tapped the game plaque that read "Seven Card Stud" and looked at his opponent. Verenko nodded, acknowledging that he knew what game they were playing.

Livingston then shrugged and folded his hand. Verenko flashed him the 2 showing that he had at least trip deuces, and the pot was pushed his way.

Seven Card Stud

Alex Livingston: XxXx/6226/Xx
Roman Verenko: XxXx/A51010/Xx
Esther Taylor: XxXx/JQ34/Xx

Esther Taylor, who has given her sparkling hat to Mike Gorodinsky coming back from break, bet on fourth street and was called by both Alex Livingston and Roman Verenko.

Livingston, now with a pair showing, bet out on fifth and both opponents called. He bet again on sixth and Verenko and Taylor stuck around to seventh.

Another bet by Livingston got rid of Taylor, but Verenko stuck around and called. Livingston turned over KJ6 for a full house, sixes full of deuces, and Verenko mucked.

Gorodinsky Borrows Taylor's Hat, Immediately Gets Wrecked

Level 19 : Limits 25,000/50,000, 0 ante
Mike Gorodinsky
Mike Gorodinsky

Seven Card Stud

Brad Ruben: AA/9QAA/6
Mike Gorodinsky: XxXx/97J5/Xx

Esther Taylor arrived today wearing a sequined fedora, putting her own spin on Shaun Deeb's now infamous sequined black ball cap. During the break, Taylor let her friend Mike Gorodinsky borrow the hat for some luck and fun.

Gorodinsky has since given the hat back. Here's why.

After Gorodinsky completed, he called a raise by Brad Ruben to his immediate left.

On fourth street Ruben bet and got called by Gorodinsky. Ruben bet again on fifth but then got raised by Gorodinsky. Ruben called and the duo went to sixth with a rapidly growing pot.

Ruben paired open aces on sixth and led out again, this time just getting a call from Gorodinsky.

On seventh street, Ruben checked and Gorodinsky now bet. Ruben came back with a check-raise that left Gorodinsky frustrated as he put in calling chips and told Ruben he had a straight.

Ruben showed that he had made quad aces to take down the massive pot and leave Gorodinsky on a short stack.

Gorodinsky immediately got up after the pot and walked over to Taylor, placing her hat back on her head and explaining the reason why.

Gorodinsky then returned to his table hatless and with a lot fewer chips.

Seven Card Stud

Christopher Claassen: XxXx/J463/Xx
Carol Fuchs: XxXx/682Q/Xx

Fuchs bet again on sixth and Claassen called, while Drinan mucked. Fuchs tossed out more chips on seventh.

Claassen gave the decision some thought before calling as Fuchs turned over 1010 for a pair of tens.

Claassen showed the J for a pair of jacks as he took the big pot.

Seven Card Stud Hi-Lo

Carol Fuchs: Xx5/36A4
Connor Drinan: XxXx/KK54

Carol Fuchs brought in and then defended to a completion from Connor Drinan. After pairing his king on fourth street, Drinan bet again and got another call from Fuchs.

Drinan slowed down on fifth street with a check, as did Fuchs with a check of her own. However as Fuchs' low board continued to improve on sixth, after another Drinan check she now bet, which after some thought got a fold from her opponent.

Fuchs showed him her 5 in the hole as the pot was pushed her way.

Yoon Gets Quartered

Level 19 : Limits 25,000/50,000, 0 ante

Omaha Hi-Lo

Brian Yoon bet from the button on a flop of 694 and Esther Taylor called in the cutoff.

The turn came the 8 and Taylor checked over to Yoon, who continued with a bet. Taylor this time slid forward a tower of red 5,000 chips for a raise, and Yoon called.

The K fell on the river and Taylor again slid forward one of her chip towers before taking some back. Yoon called and Taylor turned over A842 for two pair and the nut low. Yoon also had A1062 for the same low to take a quarter of the pot as the start-of-day chip leader fell down to a below-average stack.
