Artur Martirosian raised it up in the cutoff and Espen Jorstad three-bet to 350,000 from the big blind. Martirosian four-bet shoved all in as the big stack and Jorstad quickly called off his stack of 2,085,000.
Espen Jorstad: A♠K♥
Artur Martirosian: J♣J♦
It was a coin flip and the flop of 7♠4♠2♣ favored Martirosian with the jacks. The Q♦ on the turn changed nothing but the K♠ on the river gave Jorstad a pair of kings to double through Martirosian.
Mikita Badziakouski put out a turn bet of 500,000 from the small blind on a board that read 6♠3♦3♥9♠, with Phil Ivey making the call a short time after.
Badziakouski then committed his remaining chips in the form of an all-in on the K♣ river and was quickly called by Ivey.
Mikita Badziakouski: A♣A♠
Phil Ivey: 6♦6♥
Badziakouski would see the bad news as Ivey's full house sent his pocket aces down in flames, along with his tournament hopes.
Chance Kornuth put out a 70% pot size turn bet of 365,000 in a hand against Brian Kim, on a board that read J♣5♠9♣5♦, with Kim making the call.
The two players would then see a 7♥ river and Kornuth bet large again after being checked to by Kim, this time opting for 750,000 and sending Kim deep into the tank. He would ultimately use four of his time banks before deciding to fold, with the table rushing to take bets on what Kornuth had.
Alfred Decarolis raised to 150,000 in early position and Koray Aldemir called on the button. Bryn Kenney ripped it all in for 1,105,000 in the small blind and only Decarolis called to put Kenney at risk.
Bryn Kenney: J♣J♦
Alfred Decarolis: A♣Q♣
"Verified," Kenney said as the two players were off to the races. The board ran out K♦2♠2♦7♠2♥ and Kenney's pocket jacks held on for a double up.
Martin Kabrhel raised it up in the hijack and Adrian Mateos defended from the big blind. The flop came A♠8♦4♥ and Mateos check-called a bet from Kabrhel.
"PokerNews, write this," Kabrhel shouted. "Check-call, check-call, check-call. Adrian seat open, no more rebuy."
The turn was the Q♣ and Mateos check-called another bet of 200,000 from Kabrhel. "You see? Write it, please."
The river was the 9♥ and Mateos checked one more time. Kabrhel put together a bet of 2,500,000, putting Mateos to the test for the rest of his chips. Mateos used a time bank but decided to lay it down.
Martin Kabrhel put in a single 100,000 chip from early position before verbally announcing raise, forcing the dealer to enforce the "single-chip rule" and making it a call. David Peters would be right behind Kabrhel, though, with a raise to 175,000 from middle position and would be called by Sam Soverel in the big blind, with Kabrhel coming along as well.
The three players would check down a board of 10♣6♠8♦A♠J♠, with Soverel tabling A♦K♦ for top pair. Kabrhel and Peters mucked.
One table over, Dan Smith, who started the day as one of the shortest stacks and has been battling all day, would come out on top in a pot against Seth Davies.
Smith raised to 100,000 from middle position and was called by Davies in the big blind. The 4♥J♦5♠ flop would check through, with Davies check-calling a bet from Smith for 135,000 on the 8♥ turn.
Davies would check-call another bet from Smith on the J♣ river, this time for a hefty 425,000. Smith tabled A♣8♣ for two pair and Davies folded face down.
