Rapid Fire from Hellmuth

Level 5 : Blinds 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

Adrian Mateos raised to 27,000 under the gun and Phil Hellmuth called from the small blind. Justin Bonomo reraised to 135,000 from the big blind which got Mateos to fold but Hellmuth snap-called.

The flop came 762 and Hellmuth checked to Bonomo who bet 75,000. Hellmuth instantly threw in a check-raised to 300,000 and Bonomo called. The turn was the 10 and Hellmuth splashed in a bet of 500,000.

"Do me a favor," Bonomo pleaded. "I know you're bluffing, just don't show me a bluff."

Hellmuth proceeded to table his 77 for a set of sevens.

"At least you act faster than Christoph," Adrian Mateos piped in, referring to Christoph Vogelsang who previously occupied that seat.

On the next hand, Hellmuth made a three-bet on the button and then showed K6 as he collected the pot. "I came to f***ing play. If you're weak, I'm gonna raise you."

Badziakouski Sizes Up Against Jaffe; Petrangelo Wins One Off Hellmuth

Level 5 : Blinds 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante
Nick Petrangelo
Nick Petrangelo

The board read 5QA23 in a hand between Jonathan Jaffe and Mikita Badziakouski, with Jaffe check-calling a roughly pot-sized river bet from Badziakouski for 270,000 and Jaffe making the quick call.

Badziakouski tabled AK for top pair, top kicker and Jaffe mucked.

Over at another table, Phil Hellmuth was involved in a hand where he called an early position raise from David Peters for 27,000, which was also called by Nick Petrangelo in the big blind

Hellmuth bet 38,000 after Petrangelo and Peters both checked on the Broadway heavy flop of Q10A and only Petrangelo made the call. The K turn went check-check, as did the 2 river.

"Just an ace," announced Hellmuth, who would toss his hand in the muck after the Petrangelo tabled KQ for the straight.

Foxen Picks-Off Big River Bluff, Ponakovs Left Short

Level 6 : Blinds 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante
Kristen Foxen
Kristen Foxen

Aleksejs Ponakovs bet 325,000 from late position, after being checked to by Kristen Foxen from the small blind on a board reading A82J, with Foxen making the call.

Foxen would check to Ponakovs again on the J river and this time Ponakovs chose a larger bet size in the form of 525,000, putting the pressure on Foxen.

After using up two of her time bank chips, Foxen found the call and would be rewarded as she tabled A10 for two pair, aces and jacks, with Ponakovs turning over Q7 for a queen-high missed flush draw.

Level 6 : Blinds 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante

The action folded around to Nick Petrangelo in the small blind who made it 60,000 to go. David Peters reraised to 140,000 in the big blind and Petrangelo called.
