Dunaway Catches Cada Bluffing with Sick Call
Braxton Dunaway limped in the small blind on the last hand of Day 4, only to face a 3,000,000 raise from Joe Cada in the big blind. Dunaway called to bring the flop.
The dealer fanned 7♠9♠2♦, and Dunaway checked. Cada bet, which brought a call from Dunaway.
The turn saw 6♦, which Dunaway checked. Cada brought some heat with a 6,800,000 bet. Dunaway thought about it, then eventually called.
The river brought 10♠ and drama. Dunaway checked a third time, and Cada went all in, which covered Dunaway.
Dunaway appeared perplexed at Cada’s bet, even shifting in his seat a few times for more than a minute. He had 12,000,000 effective in front of him, but Cada put him in for his tournament life. Dunaway sat back in his chair one last time, and then leaned forward to place both hands on his stack.
“Let’s do this,” Dunaway said as he pushed his chips forward to call.
Cada tabled A♠J♣, prompting Dunaway to show K♦9♣ and the winning hand.
“Nice call,” Cada said as he tapped the table.
