Tribble’s Top Set Secures Pot

Kevin Tribble raised 900 under the gun and received calls from the player to his immediate left and the button.

The dealer fanned 9♠2♣Q♥, which drew a check from the player in the big blind. Tribble continued with 3,000, prompting the player to his left to fold. The big blind, however, flatted.

The A♣ appeared on the turn, which both players checked. The K♣ showed up on the river and the player in the big blind led out with 2,800. Tribble immediately sat up in his chair and studied the board. He then made the call and his opponent showed 9♣6♥ for a pair of nines. Tribble tabled A♦A♥ for top set.

Tribble’s opponent chuckled seeing what he bet into.

“I should’ve raised you,” Tribble said with a laugh.
