A nice field of 1,355 contenders generated a healthy prize pool of $1,808,925 in Event #34: $1,500 Pot-Limit Omaha. Exactly 98 players will be in the Gold section of the Horseshoe Main Event Center vying for a first place prize of $298,192 on Day 2. There are at least two players who are after the hardware more than anything in the form of Daniel Negreanu and Josh Arieh; the latter won his fifth bracelet just days ago and bagged the chip lead last night. Negreanu is notorious for placing bracelet bets and always puts a full schedule in every summer on the quest for more gold.
Other notables joining Day 2 include the likes of John Racener, who has $11,216,800 in reported tournament earnings and Robert Mizrachi, a four-time bracelet winner. The only two players to join Arieh in the millionaire club were the likes of Matthew Parry and Eric Fields.

David Choe managed to get his stack of 241,000 into the middle, at risk, against Steven Foutty.
David Choe: A♦Q♣10♣7♦
Steven Foutty: K♥K♠J♥10♠
The board ran out 3♣3♦A♠, leaving Foutty with only two outs to pull back ahead. There was no help to Foutty with the 9♣ on the turn, and the 2♦ bricked the river, securing a crucial double up for Choe.

With 35,000 in the middle on the turn, the board read Q♠10♦2♣A♠ and Jose Ferro check-called a bet of 16,000 from Benjamin Voreland.
The 2♠ hit the river and Ferro checked before Voreland thought about his options and knuckled back.
Ferro tabled A♥9♦8♦5♣ for a pair of aces with a nine kicker. Voreland chuckled as his pair of aces was out-pipped by two, tabling A♦7♥6♥6♠.

Ido Aboudi and Fat Cheong Wong got all of the chips into the middle preflop, with Aboudi at risk of elimination.
Ido Aboudi: K♥K♠Q♦10♠
Fat Cheong Wong: A♠A♣Q♣3♦
Wong was in the lead with his pocket aces, but the runout of 4♠2♠8♥7♦J♠ gave Aboudi a flush on the river to secure the double-up.
The very next hand, Oleg Soboi made it 20,000 to go and Aboudi and Wong came along.
On the flop of K♣4♦9♦, Soboi continued for 20,000 but then Aboudi moved all in to take it down.

The dealer fanned a flop of J♠9♠7♣ and Benson took the lead, announcing a pot-sized bet of 93,000. Bonkowski folded quickly, while Nordstrand took a few moments before following suit.
