Koon Escapes with a Double

Level 6 : Blinds 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

Sam Soverel raised to 17,000 in early position and Zachary Schwartz called on the button. Jason Koon pushed out a raise to 85,000 in the big blind, leaving just 1,000 behind. Soverel got out of the way but Schwartz elected to call.

The flop came J98 and the two players stuck in the rest of the chips and tabled their hands. Schwartz was out front with KJ but Koon had outs with A10. The Q on the turn gave Koon a straight and held on through the 5 on the river in order to double up.
