Big Bluff by Katz

Level 10 : Blinds 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante
Cary Katz
Cary Katz

Chance Kornuth raised to 45,000 from the middle position and both Cary Katz and Yang Wang made the call from the blinds.

The flop came 683, both Katz and Wang checked to Kornuth who continued with a bet of 35,000. Katz called but Wang raised it up to 100,000. Kornuth folded and Katz called again.

They both checked through the K on the turn to the 9 on the river. Katz pushed a big stack forward to put Wang all-in. Wang contemplated for a while but opted to fold for Katz to flip over the 54 for the bluff as he had missed his flopped straight draw.

Foxen Knocks out Defending Champion to Surpass Two Million

Level 10 : 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante
Alex Foxen
Alex Foxen

Action was picked up on the flop with the board reading 8A46. Foxen was out of position and facing a 150,000 bet from defending champion of this event Jake Schindler. Foxen made the call creating a pot of roughly 450,000 going into the river.

Foxen checked the 3 river and Schindler moved all in for his remaining chips. Foxen instantly made the call to put Schindler at risk.

Jake Schindler: AQ
Alex Foxen: 86

Schindler had flopped top pair but Foxen had turned two pair for the winner and took down a massive pot while eliminating last year's winner of this event.

Aldemir Falls to Arends

Level 10 : Blinds 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante
Koray Aldemir
Koray Aldemir

Koray Aldemir was all in on the button for 147,000 and was called by Jans Arends in the big blind with the bigger stack.

Koray Aldemir: KQ
Jans Arends: A4

The flop came 7QA for both of them to hit a pair but for Arends to stay ahead with top pair.

The 2 on the turn and the 10 on the river didn't change anything for the 2021 Main Event champion to hit the rail.

Justin Bonomo

There will be at least 47 players returning for Day 2 of Event #23: $50,000 High Roller No-Limit Hold’em (8-Handed). Day 1 saw a total of 111 entrants, already more than the 101 entrants this event attracted last year. More are expected to come with late registration being open until the start of play today.

Justin Bonomo leads the field going into Day 2 as the only player with more than two million chips, bagging an impressive 2,024,000 to end the day yesterday.

Not far behind Bonomo is Talal Shakerchi who ended Day 1 with 1,688,000. Chris Brewer rounds out the top 3 with 1,618,000. Both Brewer and Shakerchi will be seeking their first World Series of Poker gold bracelet win in this event while Bonomo is vying for his fourth. Other notables near the top of the leaderboard include Sam Soverel (1,450,000), Chance Kornuth (1,313,000) and Alex Foxen (1,236,000).

Action will begin at 12:00 p.m. today with the blinds resuming at 8,000/16,000 and a 16,000 big blind ante. Any player choosing to register before the start of play today will begin with a 300,000 starting stack worth just under 19 big blinds.

Levels will be 60 minutes in length with a 15-minute break after every two levels. There is a scheduled 60-minute dinner break after six levels of play and the day will conclude after ten levels. The winner will be crowned on Day 3 tomorrow, Sunday, June 11th, on the PokerGO live stream.
