Chaddha Hangs in for a Win

Action started with an open under the gun to 1,800. Manish Chaddha made the call from the cutoff and the button also made the call.

The players were off to a flop three ways.

The 2♠6♠2♥ flop landed and the preflop raiser put out a bet of 2,500. Chaddha made the call and the button also came along. Still three ways to a turn.

The 8♠ landed on the turn and action then checked to the button who only thought for a moment before putting out a bet of 6,000.

The under-the-gun player got out of the way but Chaddha stuck around to see the river.

The A♣ landed and action pretty quickly went check and check. The player on the button tabled 7♣7♠ and Chaddha tabled 10♣10♠ for a better pair to scoop the pot.

Action opened preflop with the small blind raising to 1,600 and Chris Land defending his big blind.

The flop came 7♦9♦3♣. The small blind bet 1,700 before calling Land's reraise of 3,600.

The turn brought the 8♦. The small blind bet a single red 5,000-value chip, and Land threw in one of his own a half-second later.

The 7♥ hit the river. Land's opponent checked to him, and he went all in for his remaining 8,500. His opponent began to think, as Land sipped on his green tea.

"As he sips green tea," said Land aloud, attempting to write his own story. After a minute, the small blind folded.

"Put the green tea in," said Land as he took down the pot uncontested.

When it comes to the World Series of Poker (WSOP), six-time bracelet winner Daniel Negreanu is typically found in bigger buy-in events. He’s among poker’s elite often competing for $25K Fantasy and Player of the Year points, and buy-ins in excess of $10,000 give him the best chance at both, not to mention his first bracelet since 2013.

For instance, he finished 22nd in Event #2: $25,000 High Roller Six-Handed NLH for $50,000, though he failed to bag Day 1 of Event #23: $50,000 High Roller (8-Handed) after firing two bullets.

However, on Wednesday after busting early on Day 2 of Event #16: $25,000 High Roller, “Kid Poker” opted to become a man of the people by hopping into Day 1a of Event #18: $300 Gladiators of Poker, which boasted a $3 million guarantee.

Robert Hawthorne raised to 1,500 preflop from the hijack. The cutoff then raised all in for 11,900. Action folded to Hawthorne who made the call.

The K♠10♦8♥ flop gave Hawthorne a lead that he would not relinquish, as the board completed 6♥9♦ to give Hawthorne all of his opponent's chips.

Baime Scoops A Limped Pot

Action was picked up in a four way limped pot with Ken Baime in late position.

The flop rolled out K♠10♠7♦ and the big blind bet 1,500 which saw a player in middle position call and Baime in late position call.

The turn peeled off the 9♣ and action checked over to Baime who bet 7,000 which only the middle position player called.

On the 7♥ river, the middle posiiton player took the betting lead to the tune of 8,000 and Baime called.

Middle position turned over 8♥6♥ for a straight to the ten, but Baime had that beat with Q♦J♦ for a straight to the king and the WSOP bracelet winner took down the pot.

Prescott Calls Down to Win

With the flop showing K♣2♣4♣, a player in early position bet 2,200. Mark Prescott made the call from the button.

The turn came 10♠ and Prescott's opponent led out for 4,200. Again Prescott called. The 5♥ river resulted in his having to call a bet of 6,500 from his opponent. Prescott thought for a moment before tossing in the call and taking down the pot with K♣10♦.

The action was picked up on a 7♦10♦J♣ flop and after significant action, all of the chips made their way into the middle. There was a player all in and at risk and Areeb Sheikh, who had him covered. When the cards hit their backs, Sheikh saw that he was in bad shape.

The 9♥ landed on the turn. Skeikh was drawing to an open-ended straight draw or one of the three queens left in the deck.

Before the at-risk player could start counting his winnings, the dealer burned and turned the Q♥ on the river, giving Sheikh a better two pair than his opponent and earning him the knockout.

"It's my birthday, I'm running good!" said Skeikh who turned 24 years old today and will hope to keep the run-good going deep into the night.
